Thanks to his dedication, innovation and deep respect for culinary tradition, Fran López is a chef who has managed to stand out on the international culinary scene. His career and achievements

Raised in the kitchen, Fran showed an early interest in cooking, which led him to begin his professional training at the age of 16 at the prestigious Hofmann Cooking School in Barcelona. His preparation continued in Paris, where he worked for three years with Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée, one of the epicentres of haute cuisine worldwide.

Back in Spain, together with his brother, Fran opened the Hotel Villa Retiro in Xerta in 2006, which houses the Restaurant Villa Retiro, formerly known as El Torreó de l' Indià. This restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star, a reflection of Fran's commitment to excellence and quality.
